Our entrance and reception to the Poland China breed has been a fun and very successful one thus far. Caddyshack was very popular and generated a great set of offspring leaving breeders asking what we will lay in next to put back on his daughters. The answer came in a big way in Springfield, Illinois at the Summer Type Conference. Joshua Horton has always driven a killer set of Polands, whether it be in the junior or open shows. This year was no different. He brought a boar that ended up winning the youngest class that flat hit us hard. Sired by Like No Other out of their really good Bravo sow. She was named 4th Overall Gilt & Champion Poland at the ‘12 Team Purebred Summer Show and went on to be Supreme Overall Gilt at the State Fair of Texas that same fall. In addition to BATTLESHIP, she also just recently produced the Champion Poland Barrow at the ‘14 Oklahoma Youth Expo. This stress carrier boar hit us for the way he combined width and dimension with a sound-footed skeleton. BATTLESHIP is monster chested and wide going away while staying about as true and square as you can make one. He has big feet and huge legs but stays clean jointed and mobile in motion. His has a huge back with great shape down his top and back into his hip. His rib cage is big and deep and he ties in a great show hog look up front. We think BATTLESHIP will be a barrow sire supreme. When things heat up in the show ring make sure you head into the thick of things with a BATTLESHIP!!!
