When you visit the Fordice Family you can’t help but get excited about Duroc hogs and feed off their love and passion for the breed when talking with them. Being fortunate enough to view the sow herd there, it is living proof as to why this firm is so successful. They believe in building hogs from the ground up and keeping that show ring look and appeal in them. These blue prints for success roam the dirt lots in Russellville and provide the proof that they don’t have a bunch of grizzly, stout, coarse hocked sows that they try to make those next pieces with. They all look like ladies that are productive and durable. Integrity 14- 10 is the mother of MAGNITUDE and along with her and 14-11 (Lifetime’s Grandma) they pave the way for success at the Fordice’s. When we were there to look at Lifetime, they ran out this Earthquake son they had kept from last spring. When he came up out of the dark barn and out into the sunlight our jaws hit the ground! MAGNITUDE strolled out on an impeccably built skeleton that was fluid and mobile. He had incredible extension from blade to nose and is dead level from blade to hip. This one came and left square and true while taking a big long stride. He possessed the Earthquake mass, blade, rib cage, and muscle with the look and design that makes the Fordice name famous. Going thru the sows there we were fortunate enough to see the two littermate sisters they kept to MAGNITUDE and expect to hear big things from them down the road. Long story short, when the deal was made for Lifetime we had to make sure it included MAGNITUDE as well. We all want to make hogs that have mass, power, dimension and look with extra flexibility; we feel MAGNITUDE is that one that can make the ground shake on the way to hanging purple banners!!!
